History

Formed in 1979, Gresham & Associates, Inc. is one of the largest independent wholesale insurance brokers/Managing General Agencies (MGA) in the U.S. insurance industry. The company's founder and current CEO, James V. (Jim) Gresham, began the company as a wholesale insurance brokerage operation specializing in Umbrella Liability and has grown the business through diversification and acquisition to become the ninth largest wholesale insurance broker in the country.

Gresham & Associates received its first binding authority contract from the Scottsdale Insurance Company in 1983 (the seventh such contract issued by Scottsdale) and has developed the MGA operation to over $160 million in premium volume evenly spread among 12 of the industry's leading MGA companies.
